January in Togo was nothing short of holy.<\/p>
In the summer of last year, a generous family stepped forward to purchase a Living Water Well for the village of Nouwouzon Cope a place with no church, no known believers, and deep roots in idol worship and voodoo. What followed was a powerful reminder that when God opens a door, nothing can stand in His way.<\/p>
When Le Pont International began plans for this Living Water Well, we encountered unexpected resistance. The village leaders knew that wherever we place a well, a church is planted beside it. Because of this, they refused to give land freely and required that the property be purchased. This was not just about land it was spiritual opposition. Yet God made a way!<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

This past week, a mission team from Texas joined our Le Pont staff to travel to Nouwouzon Cope and stand on the very land where the well would be drilled. The day before our arrival, heavy rains poured down. Roads were washed out, and we made multiple backup plans, unsure if our bus could even reach the village.<\/p>
After prayer, we decided to try.\u00a0Against the odds, we made it.<\/p>
We were welcomed by the elders, community members, and even the village\u2019s idol keeper. In the customary formal greeting, we introduced who we are, why we had come, and what Le Pont International does\u2014bringing clean water in the name of Jesus and walking alongside communities with the Gospel.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We then walked the land that we had purchased. We placed our hands in the soil and boldly declared that this ground now belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. We prayed that every stronghold would be broken, that this land would be cleansed, and that as water flows from this well, Living Water would flow into the hearts of this village because only Jesus truly satisfies.<\/p>
We worshiped.
We prayed.
We declared victory in Jesus\u2019 name.<\/p>
And then…at that very moment we looked up and saw the drilling rig pulling in to begin the well.<\/p>
Celebration erupted.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Earlier that morning, the idol keeper had shared something sobering: \u201cOthers have come and promised us water or schools and they never returned.\u201d But that day, promises were fulfilled before their eyes.
That afternoon, the team went door to door throughout the village, sharing gifts and the love of Christ. By the end of the day, 11 people placed their faith in Jesus including Yaovi, the leading village elder and acting leader of the community, and his sister Amavi.
Amavi said,
\u201cWe are ready. I want to be the first in my village to trust Jesus as my Savior.\u201d

And then came another miracle.

Though there has never been a church in Nouwouzon Cope, the village leaders invited us to hold the very first church service inside the village the following Sunday. A church was planted!\u00a0

Light has entered a place that had never known it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

This is what your partnership makes possible. Clean water. Fulfilled promises. Transformed hearts. And the Gospel advancing into places once thought unreachable.
